SKIN-LOVING COMBOS: THE PAIRINGS THAT WILL ENSURE BETTER SKIN

Hi, babes! Emma here, and let's keep it short and sweet today as we discuss the best skincare pairings!

When it comes to creating the ideal skincare routine, some science is involved... Did you know that there are many pairs of skincare compounds that may be combined, matched, and layered without triggering adverse reactions?  While there are some combos that should never be considered, some pairs just work better together, like fine wine and cheese.

Scroll on down to meet the skincare duos that work best together.

HYALURONIC ACID + AHAS/BHAS
Hyaluronic acid is one of the few substances that is extremely gentle and effective on all skin types, despite having a frightening-sounding name. Hyaluronic acid is an effective humectant that attracts moisture into the skin and locks it in. Because AHAs and BHAs (such as glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acids) exfoliate the skin and open up pores, they make space for moisture.

SPF + VITAMIN C
In order to strengthen the skin's defence, vitamin C offers antioxidant advantages that work well with sunscreen's sun protection abilities. According to studies, combining vitamin C and SPF can actually assist to prevent long-term pigmentation caused by UV exposure (age spots).

VITAMIN C + VITAMIN E
Vitamin E, which is abundant in antioxidants and protects skin from environmental aggressors and stressors, is frequently combined with vitamin C in skincare products (which has the same benefits). Because vitamin E is oil-soluble and vitamin C is water-soluble, they permeate skin in distinct ways, guaranteeing that everyone and everything gets an antioxidant boost. The two vitamins also stabilise and increase the efficacy of one another.

RETINOL + HYALURONIC ACID
Hyaluronic acid is so mild that it can be combined with some of the substances that are most likely to create an adverse reaction, such as retinol. If you're new to retinol, they make an excellent duo because retinol applied after hyaluronic acid will lessen its irritation without affecting how well it performs.

AHAS + BHAS
Since AHAs are water-soluble and BHAs are oil-soluble, layering AHAs and BHAs is a good approach to effectively exfoliate skin. This indicates that although AHAs concentrate on exfoliating the top layer of the skin, BHAs penetrate deeply into the skin's deeper tissues. It's preferable to use hyaluronic acid or moisturise after double exfoliation since this can cause skin to become dry.

RETINOL + SPF
Your skin becomes more vulnerable to UV damage since retinol induces skin cell turnover. Because of this, most dermatologists advise applying it at night. However, since the sensitivity persists for days after application, it's crucial to wear sunscreen every day with a minimum SPF of 30.

So there you go, babes! The best skincare pairings for you to incorporate into your routine. I hope you find these helpful, because I certainly have.

Until next time!

Love,
Emma
